1. Who We Are

MezbanPOS ("we," "us," "our") is a software company based in Pakistan that operates the website mezbanpos.com and the MezbanPOS desktop point-of-sale application for restaurants, cafes, pizza shops, bakeries, BBQ joints, biryani houses, and other food service businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Website or use our Software.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Download form: Name and email address when you download MezbanPOS.
  • Suggestion form: Name, email (optional), and your suggestion text.
  • Account & billing: When you subscribe, your name, email, phone number, business name, and payment details. Payment may be processed via bank transfer, JazzCash, Easypaisa, or other methods we make available. We do not store your full bank account or mobile wallet details beyond what is necessary for processing.
  • Support communications: Any information you share with us via email or WhatsApp when requesting help.

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps when you visit our Website.
  • Download data: When you download MezbanPOS, we record your IP address, operating system/platform, and user agent for aggregate analytics.

Information we do NOT collect:

  • MezbanPOS is an offline-first application. Your restaurant data — orders, menu items, customer information, financial reports, and all business data — stays on your local machine in a SQLite database and is never transmitted to our servers. We have zero access to your business data. This is by design.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To process and deliver your software download.
  • To manage your subscription and provide customer support via email and WhatsApp.
  • To send you software update notifications and important service announcements (you can opt out at any time).
  • To track download counts and usage analytics in aggregate (we do not track individual user behavior within the Software).
  • To improve our Website and Software based on feedback and suggestions.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and spam.
  • To comply with applicable laws and regulations in Pakistan.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We will never monetize your data. We may share data only with:

  • Payment processors (bank transfer intermediaries, JazzCash, Easypaisa, or similar services) strictly to handle subscription billing.
  • Hosting providers that store our Website and API infrastructure. Our servers are hosted on secure infrastructure with data centers that may be located outside Pakistan.
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities in Pakistan if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all Website traffic.
  • Server-side input validation and sanitization to prevent injection attacks.
  • Access controls limiting who within our team can view personal data such as download leads and suggestions.
  • Regular encrypted backups of our databases.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our Website currently does not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics), or advertising pixels. We do not participate in any ad networks or retargeting programs. If we introduce analytics tools in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and you will be notified.

  • Download lead submissions: Retained for up to 24 months, then automatically deleted.
  • Suggestion submissions: Retained indefinitely to inform product development (you can request deletion at any time).
  • Subscription records: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus 12 months for accounting and legal compliance.
  • Support communications: Retained for up to 24 months after your last interaction.

9. Children's Privacy

MezbanPOS is a business application not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

10. International Transfers

Our Website and API infrastructure may be hosted on servers located outside Pakistan. If you are accessing our Website from within Pakistan or any other country, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws. By using our Website and providing your information, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely regardless of where it is processed.

11. Your Local Restaurant Data

To be absolutely clear: your restaurant business data is yours and yours alone. MezbanPOS stores all orders, menu configurations, customer data, reports, shift records, and financial data locally on your machine. This data never passes through our servers. We cannot access, view, modify, or delete your business data under any circumstances. You are solely responsible for backing up this data using the built-in backup tools or your own backup procedures.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including any applicable data protection regulations. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Pakistan.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or WhatsApp to active subscribers at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use of our Website or Software after the updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
